It never hurts to ask for advice, which I did to fellow plant lovers when asking for recommendations for verdant places of interest in the Pacific Northwest. I'm not sure how I completely overlooked Volunteer Park Conservatory upon my initial search, but it easily became the top recommendation for Seattle.
I can see why. Though I was blessed with the sunniest weather that Seattle probably saw all year, the conservatory is clearly an area favorite for locals who are seeking to escape to more "tropical environs". The conservatory has five display houses and is kept up and curated quite nicely. If the weather is nice, I highly encourage a walk through the surrounding park to ogle over the large trees. I also took to foot and walked to the Washington Park Arboretum (approximately 30 minutes away), and then made my way down to the Seattle Japanese Garden (approximately a 15 minute walk), and to City People's Garden Storeβjust a 10-minute walk from the Japanese Gardens.
